It has been a remarkable few weeks in this fair old isle, and a series of events has occurred in the world of British politics that has left me thinking that this country of ours has been pulled up by its roots, tipped upside down and given a good shake.
What kind of world are we living in where not only is Mayor BORIS going to actually stick to his word and get rid of the dumb western extension of the Con charge (nowadays its not very often that we expect our politicians to stick to their election pledges whatever the party), the Conservative party that employ him are touting themselves as the defenders of civil rights and free speech!
As for Labour, the party that liked to be seen as the traditional bastion of all that is right-(on) are trying to issue I.D cards, gag the press, snoop on peoples conversations in the street while noting their destinations via C.C.T.V with microphones, tag kids at birth and Place movement trackers in every vehicle in the U.K, and that's just for starters, so with the Conservative party now touting a stance usually associated with leftist fringe groups and a Mayor of theirs threatening to pull the plug on a potentially lucrative source of local government money because 'the people demand it' you can imagine why i feel a bit giddy!
BUT, sarcasm aside, eighteen months to wait for the Charge to be scrapped may be too long for many of the struggling small business' in the area that are suffering and need help now because of financial difficulties brought on by the western 'C' charge, and the complicity of local council in the onward march of the chain stores.

I agree - 18 months wait serves no purpose.
I have an easy solution. Turn the cameras off. Yes, that's right, just turn them off. This instant. Why is that so hard?
