According to some of last weeks newspapers Ladbroke Grove has just been released from the iron grip of a mini crime wave at the hands of a teenage gang known as (get this..) 'The Chicken Village Crew'.
Apparently, the 'Crew' were laughingly named so because they used to hang outside and around the Chicken Village takeaway just north of Ladbroke Grove station.
These proud young cocks could be seen regularly strutting about their 'yard', preening their brightly coloured Primark threads and proudly puffing out their little chests in aggressive juvenile mating displays, or just pecking around. That was until the Police, alarmed at the potential threat to law and order the feral gang of youngsters posed, had no choice but to make sure the 'crew' flew the coop (groan) and move them on.
But while the Police and their 'operation paxo' become the toast of all right minded citizens there has been a lone voice who is swimming against the tide of opinion, "they are only young kids, this is going to be bad for business" said an unnamed man, a Chicken Village employee who is worried the resulting publicity will deter the public from visiting the takeaway (nothing to do with the 'food' being substandard crap of course).
