These energy saving light bulbs are all well and good for the green thingy, but when i replaced the old types with these new fangled ones i found that all they do for the first ten minutes after being switched on is turn the gloom an unpleasant shade of yellow, much like the candle light you see in Victorian TV costume slum dramas. Granted, after some while they become quite bright, but, having to wait for your lights to warm up is kind of going backwards technologically speaking it seems.
When we didn't have to wait for our tv's and radios to warm up anymore it was hailed a scientific breakthrough, and yet here we are now forty odd years later and going back to doing just that when we turn a light on.
