These roadworks that are taking up many of our streets are really starting to get on my nerves, i wouldn't mind if there was anyone actually working on them but many works that i see don't have anyone working on them at all most of the time, its because the building crews work on more than one site at a time. This practice of spreading too few crews over too many work sites has left much of this and other areas in chaos, big holes just sit in the middle of main roads for ages and they only seem to have any work done on them a few hours a week.
Trying to cycle down certain roads has become a mad risk, take Ladbroke Grove, for months now it's been a death trap, cyclists have to take their lives in their hands if they try to cycle along the Grove.
And if that wasn't bad enough, the metal plates they use to cover trenches that cross the roads quite often don't cover the holes properly leaving huge gaps like the one i cycled into. I was only saved by the fact i was going slowly as i approached a junction, otherwise my front teeth would have been part of the road and my nose wiped across my forehead.
I left my bike 100% where it landed in the gap when i took this photo with my camera phone, was i lucky or what!
