Have you noticed the mangled feet on Pigeons? i used to think that it was in some way a result of the way they lived, that was until i found out that the reason their feet look so chewed up is because people (councils/companies etc) actually paint a nasty corrosive acid onto ledges and window sills to put the birds off landing there.
That is one sick practice, its no wonder they look so ragged when there are people sick enough to think of such nasty ways just to stop the birds sitting on sills and ledges, this practice can only spread disease as the bird stumps around the floor, parks, window sills etc on pus-y rotten legs.
In response to this barbaric method of control i have set up a Pigeon hangout on one of my windows, sod it i don't care if people don't like them, that kind of behavior is a moral corruption because there are ways to stop birds landing that don't let them fly away in agony with their feet dissolving.
It serves no purpose other than spite, it doesn't stop them breeding, landing or pooping, all it does is make their lives a misery and what is the point in that?.
