TROUBLE IN the PARADISE bar.

I cant recall any drinking holes in the area that have gained the loathing of so many of the residents living round it as the Paradise has, the pub (oops sorry, 'bar') has gone from being one of the areas loved establishments to one that now inspires anger and bile among those unfortunate enough to live near it.
To be fair, the problem isn't drugs, violence or the clientele (mostly) but the way the place is run.
Locals who live close to the pub have become whole heatedly sick of the total and utter disdain (to put it lightly) with which they are treated, it seems to be run as if there is no one living within a mile of the place.
At times of up to three in the morning residents have to regularly put up with taxis and private cars sitting outside the pub sounding their horns to attract the drinkers inside while the bouncers just stare ahead ignoring the noise problems this causes, the bouncers allow vehicles to needlessly block the road while people jump in and out of cars and cabs causing traffic jams going both ways which also interferes with the routes of three buses even though the pub is situated in a street just about wide enough for one bus, and despite the pub having a perfectly adequate side road that leads back onto Harrow road or towards north London without any problems. It is normal for customers to double park outside and around the pub while their passengers saunter in or out of the pub,yet the staff and bouncers do little or nothing to dissuade it, any local can tell tales of the emergency services getting stuck for long periods of time while hurrying on their way somewhere because of customers jumping in and out of cabs and cars at the front door as again, the bouncers stare gormlessly on.
To give one nasty recent example, a car was sitting on the double yellow lines opposite the pub one evening with the driver and passenger inside (after an afternoon in the pub), this was causing a traffic jam that was starting to tail back some length, when a resident (who became sick of not being able to hear her TV over the car horns) went outside to ask the driver to park somewhere else she heard the driver talking/shouting into his mobile phone, he was getting quite cross because his Cocaine dealer couldn't deliver quickly enough (this wasn't a subtle man!), when he was asked to move to a sensible place (there are parking spaces less than a hundred metres away) he quickly became angry and started issuing threats, at this the lady wisely walked away, as she did the driver began to drive at her, his car being half on the pavement, as he did this the driver and now his passenger were threatening to rain down all sorts of violence on the lone lady, it was only when the ladies husband came out of the house and saw what was going on that the driver suddenly swerved off the pavement and drove away at speed. I mention this because all the time there was one of the bouncers outside the pub door and it is hard (nay, impossible!) to believe that he was unaware of the situation happening less than twenty feet away from his nose.
Drinkers have vandalized front gardens, thrown cans and bottles into them before and after going into the pub, one night three drinkers exited the pub and proceeded to try and kick in the front doors of the residents opposite and were not stopped. Most of this predictable drunken behavior can be stopped easily if only the bouncers who stand by watching all this happening would intervene, but they don't, its as if they have instructions not to move away from the pubs front door whatever is happening.
This new years eve saw drinkers exit the pub only to vomit over the front walls of the surrounding houses, you could see how people had staggered out and left their puke round the pub in a big arc of about twenty metres, and it was still there new years day, the staff in no hurry to clear it up despite it being left there by their customers.
One person who rung the pub up to complain about the noise and customer behavior was abused verbally by staff who just insulted him then slammed the phone down.
It could be so different if the drinkers behavior was controlled somewhat but the people who run the place don't care about those living round them it seems. Shame.
P.S, the only time i have heard (i repeat 'heard') of the bouncers getting involved in anything is when they have manhandled people in an unnecessary way inside the place.
