The vans with the name 'Ocado' on them, vans that deliver supermarket shopping for people who buy their food from a virtual supermarket (I imagine big people sitting on small stools wheeling a pretend shopping cart along computer generated shopping isles, but I know it's more like ticking a box, sadly.) and then get their choice delivered.
Anyway, these vans are decorated with photos of oranges, shiny vegetables and tomatoes, as well as the 'Ocado' logo.
They also have a short slogan of some kind on them, usually something letting us know how great the supermarket is. But the other day I was amazed to see that the logo on a cabbage and lettuce covered van I saw were the words "Greener than shopping yourself", o.k, right.
I don't think I need to give a 'which, of the following two choices makes more pollutants that fill the air we breathe? is it 'A'- a constantly moving van's engine exhaust, or 'B' - is it the exhaled breath of a walking person?' kind of question to make my point (but it was fun to do so).
I even factored in the effects that the walking shopper would be going through by carrying bags of food items and sundries, but so does the van, plus, they carry much more in the vans, the more food in the vans, the more petrol needed to move the vehicle.
I didn't find the slogan to be the most, convincing to be honest, I can't imagine why.
Very daft.
