URBAN 'PESTS' AND FOXES

The news that a fox had entered a house and attacked two babies is a terrible thing to have happened, although this is only the second time known of a fox entering a home and attacking someone, the other episode happened some time ago in Scotland during the 1980's, and while I would never want it to happen again I can't support the half baked dumb ideas that people have been coming up with of late to try and control (kill) our urban fox population.
The reason for my dislike of the so called fox control actions is because they are mostly really dumb, unthoughtout ideas.
Probally the worst idea (and the one I had in mind) is the use of poisoned meat left laying around in the hope it will be eaten by, and kill a fox. This dumb arsed plan has done nothing but bring misery to pet owners and give work to the local vets who have ended up trying (often pointlessly) to save the lives of seriously ill pets such as cats and dogs.
Who ever put poisoned meat down and expected foxs to be the only interested animals obviously have far less common sense than the animals they are trying to kill.
A knock on effect is the other animals affected, birds have also suffered and been found dead by poisoning, as have Squirrels. We have been losing many of our national birds as it is without fools leaving killer cuts of cheap meat for them to chew on (and yes, birds will eat cooked meat products).
So if you know one of these fools, please have a word.
