CHIPS.

Today I saw a really sad sight while waiting at some lights for them to change, a lady who was obviously, utterly and completely mentalistic. "Nothing unusual about that" I hear you say, and yes I would agree, except the lady, who was sitting on the floor, pointing and shouting at passers by (but not me for once, I was surprised!), her small amount of thin clothing threatening to unleash that what is not meant to be seen, had in her other hand a brand new, full bag of chips, and she was brandishing them like a trophy. Why chips? She couldn't of purchased those in her condition, she was in another world from us, I could only assume it was one that has chip shops as well.
The new bag of chips, held aloft like it was the Olympic flame, along with her physically demanding gyrations and verbal abuse, mixed in with what sounded like a song (language unknown) gave the scene a bit of a surreal quality, as you could imagine. This air of oddness was quickly changed when I saw and heard the kids who were collecting in a group and were beginning to get busy shouting, cussing and taking the piss out of her.
As the lights began to change I passed the piss taking kids and said "mocking the mentally afflicted rubs off onto you and makes you mad in the same way", this had an unexpected response. Instead of telling me to "eff off and mind your own business" or something like it, I received silence and got a look from the main kid as if he were saying "oh no, I'm cursed". He must of been no stranger to that particular superstition himself, combined with an imaginative enough young mind it was enough to shut him up, for a bit.
Sadly, the more 'enlightened' kids among the group soon made him forget about that one. As I cycled away I could see that she had attracted quite an audience, an ambulance would of been more appropriate.
