Someone left a comment on the 'PCHA BUILD MORE HOMES BUT NOT FOR YOU PEASANT' post asking why they have got the money to build new homes but none for repairing its ailing stock. Well 'Anonymous', the reason the landlords are not using any of the money to do any repairs is because the Government forbade the various landlords to use any of the cash for anything other than brand new building works. It didn't matter what state their existing housing stock was in.
I am in no way defending PCHA, NHHT or anyone else who agreed to that plan, they should of refused as one because they will only have to move tenants out of their mouldy crumbling homes and into the new ones for various health reasons in the near future, and that's not exactly unleashing new stock.
Its that simple, and so are the fools who thought and took the idea up.
