I have to admit to occasional fits of televisual voyeurism, these unstoppable acts of private, smutty evil are mostly commited on quiet days when no-one knows what I am doing or where I am, and starts with me closing the curtains and tuning in to Jeremy Kyle's daytime show.
Kyle's show with its daily and seemingly never ending parade of ugly, badly dressed, inbred sex mutant, gossip mongers, (who all seem to hail from the same provincial parts) has a certain thrilling (but very unsexual I wish to state most strongly) pull for me that other shows dont, thankfully I dont have it as bad as some do, for me the 'urge' doesnt last long, a whole show is a rarity, about half a show is more than enough to sate my sick appetite. Even so, I know, I should feel ashamed of myself.
Seriously though, I watched a show a few days ago and found that during the opening titles the viewership numbers are flaunted on screen along with other figures, what horrified me about this, more than any of the chinless inbred guests was the proud on screen brag that the show is aired in eleven different countries, ELEVEN!! That means with dodgy satelitte dishes and top box fix ups the actual number could be anything up to or more than thirteen or fourteen countries. Oh the shame.
I shudder at the thought of people sitting in their continental front rooms, in at least ELEVEN (weep, wail) different countries, watching the show and laughing at all the ugly, mad, British people who are unable to supress any sexual urges, like rutting primates, and assuming that we are all like that.
We are being laughed at, just like we assumed all U.S citizens were thick, mullet headed Springer types, we're laughed at in exactly the same way that we laughed at the Americans when the Springer show first aired over here, and as we know, Springers show didnt exactly help or improve ours, or any other countries opinions regarding the average American person.
Oh the shame.
A no-prize will be awarded to anyone who can name the film that this articles headline is taken from.
